Introducing: Oris 2026 Hölstein Edition Embraces New Artelier

Oris introduced a chic new Artelier collection earlier this year at Watches & Wonders, bringing back the name after a nearly decade-long hiatus. The design opens a new chapter for the brand, showcasing a fresh perspective of the young product designer, Lena Huwiler, charged with breathing new life into the historic name. Bold shapes, clean surfaces, and an introspective color palette all come together to create a unique and compelling look for the collection, and it’s been tapped for the 2026 Hölstein Edition.

Every June 1st, Oris has been in the habit of celebrating their founding with a watch named for their hometown of Hölstein. These limited editions are often fun creative outlets for existing collections to let their hair down, and serve as a celebration of the enthusiast community of the brand’s collectors. The past two years have seen monochromatic expressions of Oris sport watches (ProPilot in 2025, and Divers Sixty Five in 2024), and this year we’re getting something a little different within the new Artelier collection that could be described as serene in comparison.

The Hölstein Edition Atelier is a 39.5mm time-only affair that isn’t exactly sporty, but not quite fully formal, either. It’s neat and tidy, but feels genre agnostic in many ways, like the rest of the collection. The grey dial is slightly domed, meaning shadows will be picked up around the perimeter for a soft light fall off. Polished applied hour markers hug the slope, and highlight the dimensionality of the surface. There is no index ring or other demarcations, not even in the sub-dial containing the seconds hand. This sub-dial gets a mirror finish and a red hand, creating a soft contrast in the process. Overall, it’s a very peaceful design but one that feels confident all the same.

Oris are using their caliber 401 within this Atelier, a five-day automatic movement that also keeps the total thickness of the watch to a pleasant 11mm. Don’t expect a view of it in action, however, as the case back features another unique design detail of this watch. The case back features an iridescent Oris Bear peaking its head over the corner for a playful look at the viewer, and keeps inline with the brand’s unofficial mascot that fans of the brand will no doubt be familiar with. It brings a sense of levity to the watch, which is a skill Oris have become quite adept at in recent years.

Just 250 examples of the Hölstein Edition Atelier will be produced, and it will ship on a suede leather strap. I do feel like this design would lend itself to a mesh style bracelet quite well, but that’s an area Oris has yet to fully explore. Pricing for the watch is set at $4,600. Oris
