We’ve got something a little different this week with a video featuring special guest Sunflowerman (with a special appearance by Jonathan Ferrer of Brew Watches) painting the Zenith Rainbow Flyback in real-time in New York City. Sunflowerman is a Texas based artist that specializes in fashion and watches in particular. He’s done commissioned work for watch brands, and has appeared at various enthusiast events across the globe to not only showcase, but to create his art in real-time. His unique style captures more than just the aesthetic of a watch, as he manages to find the life it has lived in an oddly beautiful way. This quality comes through in this piece of art created on the spot this week in New York.
In this video we chat with Sunflowerman about his work, and what motivates his style. We also get some perspective from Jonathan Ferrer, who has worked with the artist in the past. Here, he opens up a bit about watches that have presented challenges, as well some of his favorite work. Throughout the chat, we witness the painting of the Zenith Rainbow Flyback come together in real-time.
You can find more of Sunflowerman’s work, as well as request a commission of your own, at his website, and you can follow his work on his Instagram account. Big thanks to Sunflowerman for this live demonstration, and for the beautiful piece of art.
