In what has become a rather comfortable collaborative partnership, Unimatic and Massena LAB are once again coming together for a special release marking the 2025 Geneva Watch Days show. The watch is a Modello Quattro ref. U4S‑T‑SPW, a familiar template that’s making use of some unexpected materials and color scheme to round out the NASA Space Exploration trilogy. The result is a near monochromatic expression that incorporates Cerakote titanium, a meteorite dial, and a carefully considered application of lume for a near ethereal overall experience. This may not win over any new fans, but for those on board with the Unimatic x Massena LAB vibes, there’s a lot to love here.

So this watch begins with the tried and true Modello Quattro base, which means a 40mm case that measures 13.7mm in thickness, and boasts a broad, flat fixed bezel piece. This is a time-only affair and it leans into a specific aesthetic over any kind of functional aspect, and that begins with the palette being used. The case is made of titanium, but it has received a Cerakote H140 bright‑white coating. This stands in stark contrast to the existing NASA Space Exploration watches from Unimatic and Massena LAB (seen here, and here), which use bright orange and black reminiscent of astronaut suits.

The U4S‑T‑SPW looks beyond the suits and gear, and into the cosmos itself for inspiration. It is largely devoid of color, and hosts a meteorite dial that serves as the focal point. The hour markers and hands are mere outlines so as to not distract from the pattern of the dial, However, in low light settings it is revealed that those outlines are in fact blue lume. Overall, the watch makes for a relatively serene experience, which feels quite intentional. Again, this is a perfect contrast to the expressive, almost brash existing references within this collection.

The stat line will be a familiar one with this reference, boasting a 300 meter depth rating, and rocking a Sellita SW200‑1 b automatic movement with 38 hours of reserve, and +/-12 seconds per day of accuracy. Yes, an updated movement with a bit more gas in the tank would be welcome, and let us hope that that’s a move in the works. Just 60 individually numbered examples of the U4S‑T‑SPW are planned for production, at a price of €2500. Unimatic / Massena LAB
